Port Orange Family Days

Port Orange Family Days are this weekend! This is their 16th year, the fun is located at City Center in Port Orange. Family Days runs through Sunday, the complete schedule is available on their website, along with a list of exhibitors and a map.

Many of our local New Smyrna Beach businesses will be there. Including Coco's Doggy Daycare, Marine Discovery Center, Big Papa's Sauces, Volusia Motor Sports, Heart Strings Boutique, People for a Drug Free Youth and the Southeast Volusia Humane Society.

Clean out your closet and head over to Norwood's on October 1st at 5pm to join Cuda's Unhooked for Formal Frenzy. For just $20.00 you will enjoy wine, snacks and the knowledge you are helping our local youth. The organization is seeking Gowns, Dresses, Mens Dress Pants, Ties, Dress Shirts and Accessories.

There is plenty to do this weekend at the Beach! The Jazz Festival starts today on and around Flagler Avenue. 

Atlantic Center for the Arts is celebrating the 20th Anniversary of their Community Arts Program with an Open House from 10am-2pm at the center located at 214 South Riverside Drive.

New Smyrna Speedway has racing all weekend weather permitting!

Dance Factory

 
 
 
The Dance Factory is accepting students now!
 It’s not too late to enroll in the fall semester at The Dance Factory in New Smyrna Beach! Students have begun work on holiday routines that will be seen at events all over the area in the coming months, culminating in a fabulously festive holiday show!
 Classes begin at ages 2-4 (Tiny Tots), ages 4-5 (Minis), ages 6-9 (Petites), ages 10-12 (Juniors), ages 13-18 (Teens), and adults. Classes are available in ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, lyrical, baton and tumbling. Rates are very affordable, including sibling discounts! Many class times are still available give them a call or check out their website for more information!

5th Friday Community Celebration





Friday, September 30th there will be a FREE Concert in Riverside Park. Music will be provided by Brickyard Road. The show starts at 6:30pm and will run til about 8:30pm. Bring a chair and enjoy the show!

The wonderful Surfside Chorus will be singing for you at the Volusia Mall at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, September 27th. The Mall is located across from the Airport at 1700 W. International Speedway Blvd. Do your part to boost the economy with some retail therapy and listen to some great music!

Free Mammograms

 

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and if you are between the ages of 40-49 and are either uninsured or underinsured, the Susan G Komen Grant will pay for your mammogram at Florida Hospital Imaging Center in Ormond Beach. (386-671-9090). There is an application to fill out and some income verification. Applications will be available this Friday at the Babe James Community Center in New Smyrna Beach.
