The easiest way to put money in the school! New Smyrna Chrysler Jeep Dodge will have their Dodge Ram Trucks at NSB Sports Complex to test drive on August 15th. $20.00 goes to the school. You can even designate your donation to a certain department, sport or club. (Pick Baseball or Volleyball)

Community Back to School Supply Drive is holding a Car Wash this Saturday at Denny's on SR 44.  It is from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm. Bring some school supplies to donate and get your car washed by T's Mobile Detailing. Busy and can't make it? Drop your supplies by Beef O'Brady's or Merk's to help our local kids with school supplies. These supplies stay right here in our community!

The July Wine Walk is Saturday, July 26th. Stroll along Flagler Avenue and check out local vendors, shops and of course taste over 100 wines. You can purchase your wine passport for $25.00 at three locations along Flagler.

Back to School Tax Free Shopping

Just in time for Back to School purchases, the State of Florida will once again be participating in the Sales Tax Holiday Weekend.

The 2014 Tax Free Shopping dates are August 1 through August 3rd. For three days Florida stores will offer discounts to all shoppers – Florida residents, and visitors to the state. The tax holiday begins on Friday, August 1, 2014 at 12:01am and continues until Sunday, August 3, 2014 at 11:59pm.

 

The Sales Tax Holiday is designed help out with the cost of school supplies and clothing, but is not limited to purchases for children. Items that are included in the list include:

• Clothing
• Footwear
• Certain clothing accessories
• Certain school supplies
• Personal computers and certain related accessories

Crabby Chris Door 2 Door

We tried the Crabby Chris Door 2 Door Service this week! Very busy week with sports and work and I could see no chance of cooking on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Here is how it works. Text the word Menu to 386-547-3567 or email the word Menu to info@crabbydoor2door.com. The service is offered Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. On Sunday you will receive the week's menu. You reply with the days you want and the size. On the days you choose they will bring dinner to your door. Not going to be home? Leave a cooler outside with your payment and they leave it for you!

The service is offered from Edgewater to Ormond. A Whole Meal serves 6 for $35.00 and a Half serves 3 for $20.00. The Wednesday meals are $25.00 for a whole and $15.00 for a half.

How did I like it? Fabulous. Yesterday we had Cajun Chicken Pasta delivered to the door, I made a tossed salad to go with it and dinner was done, and it was delicious. Today we had Creamy Chicken Enchiladas, I made a fruit salad to go with it and a pitcher of tea. We love the Crabby Chris Enchiladas, this is their signature dish and it is awesome! We ordered the half meal and it was more than enough for my 2 children and I. So...for about a third of what I spend in a restaurant or take out, we had delicious food and a super nice delivery guy handed it to me in my driveway.
