Ramunto's Pizza

Big Planet Pizza was recently replaced by Ramunto's Pizza. I believe they are part of a chain from New England/North East area of the country. I always had a love/hate relationship with Big Planet, their service was good, sometimes and their food was okay although rather on the expensive side.

A friend and I decided to give it a whirl on Thursday night. Ramunto's has new owners however, not much has changed on the inside, other than the big wood ovens appear to be gone and have been replaced by a regular pizza oven, I may be wrong but I did not see any fire over there like you used to see when they were making the pizza before. The placards on the wall in the bathrooms and around the restaurant still say Big Planet Pizza.

Many of the same people are working there, which is good. They kept their jobs. We did see a few new faces. It is a completely different menu, and it is still pricey. I tried the Spinach & Artichoke dip that another friend ordered, which is $8.00 and comes serves with breadsticks, it was a huge bowl of the dip and was good. We also ordered a white pizza off the menu, the New York style is $19.95 with extra toppings $2.25 each. The pizza was huge with plenty of cheese, toppings were a tad sparse, we got spinach and mushrooms, there were a few spinach leaves and a couple of mushrooms. It was a good pizza but probably not a $25.00 pizza. The calzones were also huge and the salads were good sized. We did not try these but asked the people around us and they said they were good.

I hope they succeed, I think with their prices it may be tough for Edgewater to support them. I still think the best place to grab a great pizza and a drink is either Panheads on Orange off of Canal or That's Amore behind Clancy's on Flagler. To grab a quick take out Mikey's on 3rd Avenue beachside is my favorite.

I could not find a website or Facebook page for this location but if I do I will add it.

Have a nice weekend!

Halo Branded Products

I was surfing around the web, checking emails and came across a pretty cool idea for us beach people and businesses, booster clubs and even for events! Beach Towels! Who would have thought there would be such a wide array of possibilities in personalized beach towels? Halo Branded products has all sizes and weights of towels that you can customize to meet your needs.

I am thinking giant red, white and black towels with a big Barracuda logo on it for booster club prizes...but really any business could get customized beach towels made as promotional items or even sale items. This would also be a great idea for a family reunion or wedding at the beach. Very nice idea. And no if you buy towels I don't get any commission. I just think it is a pretty great idea for the beach with a lot of possibilities!

R.B.I. Cudas Golf Tournament

The 3rd Annual R.B.I. Cudas Golf Tournament is coming up on May 11, 2013 at Hidden Lakes Golf Club. The R.B.I. Cudas Baseball Association, Inc. is the Booster Club for the New Smyrna Beach High School Baseball Program. They also operate a feeder team for middle school students who want to play high school baseball.

The R.B.I. Cudas do lots of other things too, they operate the concessions at the NSB Sports Complex for the games, they gave away $2500.00 in scholarships to graduating seniors from NSBHS last year (2 of which were not baseball players) and they work with both the City of NSB and the City of Edgewater on various charitable events and baseball leagues.

If you follow local baseball you may already know that the 2012 NSBHS Baseball Team made history by not only winning their district championship, regional championship but also going to the State Final Four tournament. So far this year the are 5-0 and looking good!

This golf tournament is their biggest fundraiser and they need the community and business to support them! If you are a golfer you can come out and have lunch, possibly win some great prizes, meet the coaches...and play golf. I will be there selling 50/50 raffle tickets and perhaps riding around on a beverage cart! Don't let that scare you...golf anyway! Register Here.

If you are a business we need sponsors. There are many opportunities to sponsor this event. Check them out here. If you would like to donate a door prize or silent auction item please contact me at 424-1303 or email me. No gift is too small.

If you would like the event flyer you can get it here.

The R.B.I. Cudas Baseball Association, Inc. is registered with the IRS as a 501(c)(3) organization and all donations are tax deductible as allowed by law.
