Fishing For Cudas

The 4th Annual Fishing for Cudas Tournament is coming up on May 18th! This year's event is being held at Riverside Park located at 105 S. Riverside Drive in NSB. Their event website has all the information to register to fish or to sponsor the event.

The event is from 11:00 am - 6: 00 pm and will have representatives from many of the sports teams available to answer your questions. Concessions will be available from the R.B.I. Cudas Baseball Boosters, drinks, burgers, hot dogs, nachos and more.

R.B.I. Cudas Golf Tournament

The 3rd Annual R.B.I. Cudas Golf Tournament is coming up on May 11, 2013 at Hidden Lakes Golf Club. The R.B.I. Cudas Baseball Association, Inc. is the Booster Club for the New Smyrna Beach High School Baseball Program. They also operate a feeder team for middle school students who want to play high school baseball.

The R.B.I. Cudas do lots of other things too, they operate the concessions at the NSB Sports Complex for the games, they gave away $2500.00 in scholarships to graduating seniors from NSBHS last year (2 of which were not baseball players) and they work with both the City of NSB and the City of Edgewater on various charitable events and baseball leagues.

If you follow local baseball you may already know that the 2012 NSBHS Baseball Team made history by not only winning their district championship, regional championship but also going to the State Final Four tournament. So far this year the are 5-0 and looking good!

This golf tournament is their biggest fundraiser and they need the community and business to support them! If you are a golfer you can come out and have lunch, possibly win some great prizes, meet the coaches...and play golf. I will be there selling 50/50 raffle tickets and perhaps riding around on a beverage cart! Don't let that scare you...golf anyway! Register Here.

R.B.I. Cudas River Run/Walk 5K

Speaking of Baseball (we were speaking of it I think), the R.B.I. Cudas Baseball Association is holding a 5K Run/Walk to support their youth baseball programs and scholarship fund.

The R.B.I. Cudas is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization that supports local youth baseball, acts as the booster club for the New Smyrna Beach High School Baseball team and offers scholarships to graduating seniors who exhibit good grades, sportsmanship and support their community. Five 2012 graduates each received scholarships this year. $2500.00 was awarded the first year!

The R.B.I. Cudas rely on a couple of fundraisers a year, a spring golf tournament, a sponsor drive in the winter, a rummage sale and now a fall 5K.

Baseball/Softball Signups - Tryouts

There are a couple of opportunities for Fall Baseball & Softball. NSB Parks & Recreation has signups going on now thru September 7th for their fall program. They have baseball teams for ages 4 through 16. Softball from age 10 through 16. More information and online registration is available here.

High School Prep baseball is also available for fall through the R.B.I. Cudas. High School tryouts are on August 13 & 14th at 4:00 pm at New Smyrna Beach Sports Complex. Middle School Tryouts are on August 27th at 6:00 pm also at the Sports Complex. Email them for more information at info@rbicudas.org.

Golf With the Cudas!

The 2nd Annual R.B.I Cudas Golf Tournament is Saturday, May 12th at Hidden Lakes. This super fun event combines baseball and golf. The R.B.I Cudas act not only as the Booster Club for the NSB High School Baseball team but they also operate and support the "farm team" system that now feeds the High School program. It is operated by an all volunteer board and parent volunteers that raise money for such things as uniforms, insurance, equipment and more. The program requires a little over $20,000 a year to operate, this year they are offering two $500.00 scholarships to graduating seniors.

The golf tournament is the biggest fundraiser of the year and provides almost half of the operating budget. The cost is $50.00 per golfer or $200.00 for a team of four. Grab your friends and your clubs and come on out and golf with the Cudas. If you are not a golfer have we got a deal for you....there is an assortment of sponsorship opportunities available to you or your business. Get your name out there and support your local athletes. Great combination!!!
