McKenna's

Mike McKenna is a huge supporter of our local schools, sports, animal rescue, dance teams...you name it McKenna's has probably supported it at one time or another. Several of the organizations I support have been the recipient of Mike's generosity over and over. We appreciate him very much.

On Tuesday, June 10 the New Smyrna City Commission will honor Mike. He will be receiving an award and be recognized for all he does for all of us. If you have ever been involved in anyway with any of these non-profits as a board member, a player on a team, a parent, a coach..whatever the case. I urge you to come out and celebrate as Mayor Adam Barringer give him a well deserved honor.

The meeting is at City Hall on Sams Ave at 6:30 pm - June 10th.

County Council - Justin Kennedy

I was happy to see this in my inbox this morning:

Small Business owner, Edgewater City Councilman Justin Kennedy has officially declared his candidacy in the district 3 race for Volusia County Council.

Married for almost 20 years, Justin and Susan Kennedy have 5 school age children.  “We believe public service is an important part of our society.”  Susan Kennedy is an English teacher at New Smyrna Beach High School.

Kennedy says that his goal as a county councilman, if elected, would be to bring common sense back to the Volusia County Council.  Divisive politics, wasteful spending and unprecedented county government overreach all led to his decision to run for the position.

The “icing on the cake” is the $100,000+ Kaney boondoggle.  Kennedy says he hopes to bring this issue front and center in order to expose it for what it is.
