East Coast Cruiser's 15th Anniversary

This Saturday August 13th marks the 15th anniversary of the East Coast Cruisers Classic Car Show on Canal Street. Admission is free, birthday cake will be served and a limited number of dash plaques will be available on a first come first serve basis. The fun starts at 4:00 p.m.

School Stuff

School starts August 22nd. (insert big grin here).

6th Graders will be welcomed to NSB Middle School on Wednesday, August 10th. Information on this orientation is on the school website.

Children in 7th and 8th grade can pick up schedules, get information and register on August 10th from 9:30-4:00pm.

Tax Free Weekend is next weekend August 12th through the 14th. Here is a list of tax free items from the Department of Revenue.

Saturday you can hit the Farmers Market at Old Fort Park in New Smyrna Beach and Hawk's Park in Edgewater

Gallery Walk on Canal Street is tomorrow beginning at 10:00 am.

Racing at New Smyrna Speedway starts at 7:00 pm.

Saturday is National Lighthouse Day - check out all the activities at Ponce Inlet Lighthouse.

Cudas Unhooked

Cudas Unhooked is a group dedicated to helping at risk students at New Smyrna Beach High School Graduate. Their Monthly community meetings will resume this coming Monday, August 8th at 7pm. The meeting will be held at Coronado Community United Methodist Church. The church is located at the corner of Flagler Ave and Peninsula. Items to be covered at this meeting include:

Wish List/Needed Items

Meeting will be held throughout the year, the second Monday of the month. They generally run about an hour. If you would like to participate, volunteer or just want more information give Shawn Lane a call at 386-690-1355.

Dr. Wendy Edwards is offering school and sports physicals for $25.00 per person, regardless of insurance. Some local physicians are charging $90.00 for the same physical! You can contact her office at 386-402-8997 to make an appointment, often the same day! Her office is located at 109 N. Orange Ave in New Smyrna Beach.
