Unfortunately this is the scene around much of Volusia County, Daytona is flooded, Holly Hill is under water, even the Speedway was not spared. The shuttle can't land and one of our biggest tourist spending weekends of the year at the beach may be a washout. Beachside residents actually fared pretty well considering we live on a sand bar. A1A was flooded in some areas, a few houses had water in them that had to be pumped out, but overall we did better than most. If you were not so lucky here are some places you can check for more information and help.In New Smyrna Beach Wastepro will be running on Monday (Memorial Day) and Southard's recycling will also pick up if you regular recycling day is Monday.
