Samsula Tractor Parade - Watch It Here

So I went to the Samsula Tractor Parade this afternoon. My daughter was riding in it. That is her and her horse. Below you can watch an entertaining slide show of the days entries. It was actually quite entertaining. I learned a few important things, there are alot of old tractors that still run and look great. Open container is not an issue in Samsula and there are those that still fly the Confederate Flag (sad but true). Click on the slideshow to watch it in fullscreen.

I've enjoyed your blog for awhile now. But with your comments on these pictures... I'm not so sure I'll ever tell people to come here. You obviously never have been to the Samsula parade. and to make comments like you did.... I only hope your children don't know anyone in those photos, because I do, and so do my children. I'm ashamed at the moment for your blog to be called newsmyrnabeachmom... it should be called newsmyrnabeachmom...BUTI justmovedheresoI'mreallynotfrom here*

WOW, sorry you are upset, wish you were not anonymous so I could contact you directly. I think the photos came out pretty good. Certainly they were not posted with the intention of offending anyone. I stand by my comment about the confederate flag, I do find it sad that some still fly it. I am surprised that adults would ride in a parade with children holding a beer. However all in all I thought it was a good day and everyone had fun. My daughter rode in the parade and had a fabulous time. I am sorry you won't be back.

You must of been directly across the street from me during the parade, as I was in a few of the pictures.

I do kind of have to agree with one thing, the comments about the open container and the flag were a little harsh, but as your own opinion that you are more then intitled to, it doesn't bother me. Just giving you my opinion. It just set a stereotype that I don't think is the true reflection of the Samsula community. I didn't notice any open containers, but honestly, I wasn't paying attention enough to what was in people's hands. Just enjoying the floats. I probably wouldnt of approved of seeing alcohol at a Christmas Parade, but I wouldnt direct it as a issue of the community's. As a whole, I'm certain we aren't all open container, confederate flying people. I'm sorry that the one or two, however many people, that had a beer in their hand gave you a stereotypical view of Samsula.

On that note, I do enjoy your blog and respect your opinion, we are all entitled to one.... or two lol. ;)

I spend alot of time in Samsula, our horses are boarded there and everyone I have ever met is very kind, I surely did not mean to stereotype an entire community, just making an observation...I lived in a teeny tiny town in NC and the confederate flag was everywhere it is sure not representative of one area....like your blog too...

No problem, I just didn't want anyone reading your blog that wasn't familiar with Samsula to think we were a bunch of beer drinking confederate flying people, or to be afraid to come out to next year's Tractor Parade.I know I've relied on your opinion in the past for some of the local events, so some might take it to heart. We were able to find the perfect spot for some 4th of July fireworks thanks to your blog. We don't normally go to firework events but wanted to this year. Had no idea where to go. We ended up at the Edgewater Fireworks by suggestion of your 4th of July blog and had a great time.
