The Ponce Inlet Light that is.....
The Ponce De Leon Inlet Lighthouse is celebrating Independence Week, from July 1st through July 10th (yes, so it is a long week) from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. The celebration will include family orientated activities and workshops. Every Saturday in July from 1 – 2 pm you can observe the Canaveral Lens Maintenance Demonstration. Visit with the Lighthouse Keeper, in living history mode, as he describes his duties at the Lighthouse. Then join him as he talks about the history of the Cape Canaveral Lighthouse, and demonstrates the maintenance duties on the First Order Fresnel Lens. This is all included with regular admission and no advance reservations are required.
Admission is $5.00 for adults and $1.50 for children 11 & under. The Lighthouse is located at 4931 South Peninsula Drive, Ponce Inlet. Hours of operation are 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. with last admission to the grounds at 8 p.m. Call (386) 761-1821 for more information.

PANE E VINO for the BEST PIZZA...
That's Amore USED to be our favorite restaurant for pizza, but we found the quality of food to be inconsistent and cleanliness of the restaurant and kitchen questionable. The last time we were there in May the family sitting at the next table found a plastic twist tie from a loaf of bread in their young daughter's pasta. The response from management was that of indifference.
Since that experience, we continued our search and discovered PANE E VINO where the former Dolce Vita, same owners as That's Amore, used to be located - across the street from NSB Beacon Theatre on US1.

The interior has been updated and a partial wall removed so that the kitchen is more exposed to the dining room. I tend to like a restaurant where the kitchen isn't hidden, especially now days since the News Journal publishes the health dept inspection results from restaurants. The staff greeted us upon our arrival and was professional in every aspect of service. And the pizza was simply divine. Thin, crispy crust, excellent sauce and cheese - nothing else to complicate the flavor. (The eggplant parmigiana is another favorite.)
We highly recommend you give PANE E VINO a try.
