Young Eagles Rally

Here is what sounds like a super fun event this Sunday, March 27th, from 10am-3pm.  The Daytona Chapter EAA288 will host a Young Eagles Rally at the New Smyrna Beach Airport. Guest of honor will be Jeff Skiles, First Officer of US Air flight 1549, otherwise known as "The Miracle on the Hudson" flight. Jeff will be speaking to the young people and joining up to 30 area pilots as they give as many as 125 students between 8 and 17 their first airplane ride. Jeff will be flying Young Eagles in the new Cessna Skycatcher.

The EAA's Young Eagles program is designed to educate and inspire our youth to the opportunities in aviation. Each Young Eagle will receive a free airplane ride from a volunteer private pilot, a First Flight certificate, logbook and inclusion into the World's Largest Logbook which lists more than 1.4 million such first flights. To register for a free flight, a child must be 8 to 17 years of age and have the consent of a parent or legal guardian. Registration for the free flights may be made online on their website.  Click on the Young Eagles logo. You can also register the day of the event.

If you need more information that you do not see on the website, contact Amy at 386-690-0081.
Please note the website says Spruce Creek but this IS taking place at NSB Airport.
