Bat with the Daytona Cubs

The Daytona Cubs have kicked off a raffle for a chance to join the team during Batting Practice! Chances are $5 each and you can purchase tickets at Fan Services through Aug 1st.

The money raised through the raffle will benefit one of the Cubs Game Day employees, Chad Russell.  Chad started with the Cubs last season and worked at the gates passing out programs to the fans.  He has Cerebral Palsy and was confined to a wheelchair and had to use sign language to communicate.  But by no means did that curb his enthusiasm. Chad’s helpers and Mom always shared stories about how much he looked forward to working the games and earning the extra spending money.

Early in this season, Chad went from working a Saturday game to being admitted in the hospital with severe medical issues.  Chad was admitted to ICU and is still there. He has made many small improvements but is now being transferred to Shands in Gainesville for further treatment. The Daytona Cubs want to help this member of their family as much of Chad's treatment is not covered by insurance.

So grab a chance to bat with the Cubs and help someone at the same time!
