The 25th Annual Operation Christmas Cheer is underway in NSB!
For the past 25 years, the New Smyrna Beach Police Department has provided assistance to Southeast Volusia families in need through Operation Christmas Cheer. this year over 200 children will be recipients of this project.
The New Smyrna Beach Police Department collects donated toys, nonperishable food and clothing and delivers the items before Christmas.
Collection boxes will be available through December 17 at four New Smyrna Beach locations:
New Smyrna Beach Police Department, 246 Industrial Park Avenue.
New Smyrna Beach City Hall, 210 Sams Avenue.
New Smyrna Beach Fire Department Station 53, 500 Third Avenue.
Stavro’s Pizza, 800 N. Dixie Freeway.
Donations will be accepted through December 17 and will be distributed to families throughout Southeast Volusia County. Requests for assistance are received daily from families and also from police officers who have identified a need while working in the community, according to Chief Donna Lavallee.
