Kook 386-Teen Center

I am sure many of you have heard or read about KOOK 386 Teen Rec Center in Edgewater. The idea for this center was brought to life after Michele Tuck's daughter took her own life. Michele wanted to create a place where teens could go and just hang out with no fear of bullying, peer pressure and all that nonsense that kids deal with.

The center is located at 116 N. Old County Rd in Edgewater. They offer all kinds of activities and it is all free. Coming up is Yoga, Art Classes sponsored by the Hub and a whole lot more. They are a 501(c)3 and rely on donations and community support to stay open.

In that effort one of their supporters has set up a GoFundMe page, and the ladies of BELONG are holding a Fundraiser this Saturday. Details are below. There will be food and plenty of prizes, silent auction and our friend DJ Big Tom will be spinning the tunes. It will be a good time for an important cause! 

Lei'd Back Party

The Belong Community Outreach Women's Group is holding Fundraiser to benefit the Helping Hands & Hearts for Hunger Organization. This group assists our local food banks in providing food to those in our community that may need a little extra help.

This event is being hosted by Flip Flops, who deserves a little recognition for stepping up! This was originally to be held at JJ Fins, which has closed it's doors. The awesome folks at Flip Flops
generously came forward and offered to hold this in their restaurant on 3rd Avenue in New Smyrna Beach.

The cost is $10.00 and kids under 3 are free. There will be live music all day and a kids zone for the young ones. This is a great event that will directly support local food banks.

The event is September 30th from 11:00 am - 7:00 pm.

A Taste of Southeast Volusia

The wonderful ladies of BELONG will be doing a fundraiser to benefit the BOY'S & GIRL'S CLUB on Saturday, October 22nd from 12:00 noon until 5:00pm. Kids 12 and under are free and adults are $5.00.

 

A TASTE OF SOUTHEAST VOLUSIA will feature a ton of activities for the kids, including a Bounce House, an 18 foot slide, facepainting, a balloonist, games and more. There will be entertainment provided by the Pirates. Terri's Twirling Tornados, plenty of food by local restaurants, raffles, craft vendors and more. It will be a great day for a great cause!
