Need Alterations?

I get messages every week from people asking me about alterations. Where can you get them in New Smyrna Beach? I have the answer! There is a new bridal shop on Canal Street, Bridal LTD Gallery.

My son had to have his new suit altered in time for all the graduation festivities, so we went on down to their shop on Canal Street (my teenage son was thrilled) and met with Holly. She did her thing and told me to pick it up on Tuesday, it was Thursday so I was overjoyed with that! Holly was super nice and even made a teenage boy surrounded by wedding gowns feel at ease!

My son went and picked it up, it is perfect, she even pressed and lightly starched his shirts for him saving me a trip to the dry cleaner (I don't iron, what is starch?)

Highly recommend...and they have a great selection of gorgeous gowns in the shop as well, so if you are in the market for a wedding dress skip the trip to Daytona or Orlando and check them out.

Bridal LTD Gallery is located at 421 Canal Street. You can reach them at 376-256-4921.

Thrifty Threads Consignment Shop

I paid a visit to Thrifty Threads Consignment Shop this morning. What a great find it was for me. Beautiful merchandise, great prices and super friendly service. I was in the market for a new bag, I found two and seriously paid what I would have spent on one. They are both in perfect condition, like new. I took a look around while I was there and they have some beautiful clothes at excellent prices. Absolutely worth stopping in to shop.

Thrifty Threads is a family owned business and have been on Canal Street for 20 years. If you have items that are clean and in good condition (and still in style) give Cindy a call and schedule an appointment to take them in. Once they sell you will receive 40% of the selling price.

Thrifty Threads is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. They are located at 217 Canal Street. Their number is 386-427-0490.

They offer a special lunch menu that is plenty of food at a discounted price. Thai Mango is open for lunch from 11am - 3pm on weekdays and dinner 5pm-9pm. Lunch On Us

No lunch will not be on me...at least not this time.

The Canal Street "Lunch On Us" Program begins June 1st and runs through August 31st. Here is how it works....groups coming to New Smyrna Beach can hang out and visit the shops on Canal Street, they will receive a "passport" that will be stamped by various merchants along Canal Street, then a free lunch at one of my favorites-Dolphin View Restaurant. Dolphin View has a great location, beautiful scenery and excellent food!

So, if you and your friends would like to visit us in New Smyrna Beach and enjoy some lunch give Sandi Sawyer a call at 386-409-5232. She will be happy to give you more information and a reservation for the program!

Weekend Events-Canal Street

Took this today at 15th Street, beautiful morning here in paradise.

This weekend think Canal Street.

The New Smyrna Farmer's Market is open from 7:00am-12:30pm. Get your fresh bread, local produce and more at this weekly event.

It is the first Saturday in August so the Gallery Walk takes place from 4:00pm-8:00pm. Check out the Clay Gallery, they offer entertainment, refreshments and fun in their beautiful gardens during this event.

Romesco's Wine Bar and Restaurant has some excellent food and a large wine selection.

If you are checking out Canal Street you have to hit the Fountain at Little Drug's. They feature an actual old fashioned ice cream counter. Take your kids and have a blast from the past.

I was really surprised when I really checked out Canal Street, there is a ton of shops, restaurants and things to do, so park your car in one of several parking lots around town, ride your bike or take a walk down Canal Street this weekend!
